If you aren't using a pepper grinder for seasoning your food, consider changing your ways. The pre-ground stuff is just subpar. I said it! But really, there are volatile oils in a peppercorn that don't last very long after being ground, so by grinding as you need it, you're going to get more intense flavor on your food.
