We don't know how you wouldn't be charmed by this set of vintage salt and pepper shakers. S, that's the salty squirrel, is WINKING for goodness sake! But added to their obvious anthropomorphic charm is a handwritten note, attached by tape to the bottom of one, that gives away their origin story (we love a good origin story.)
This set was originally purchased in 1961 somewhere in Manhattan, KS (yeah, there's a Manhattan there, too; we checked) making this sweet set is over 60 years old! This playful pair of mid century pals is the perfect place to hold your seasonings; or to liven up a shelf missing some kitsch.
