Vintage Karolina Porcelain Polish Pottery Coffee Mugs Folk Art Design
Polish Porcelain Coffee Mugs
Polish Porcelain Coffee Mugs
Sometimes dandies takes us down a real rabbit hole like this set of fine porcelain coffee mugs. When we eyed them while out sourcing, we thought they were a gorgeous Southwestern print--or a Native American pattern. We obviously liked them because of the orange color; and we could tell that they were really well made. They have a stamp so we figured we'd easily find out more at home.
Well friends, we did find out more, but it wasn't easy (sometimes those stamps are just hard to read.) But the power of the Internet helped us decode the stamp: Karolina Porcelain made in Poland. We still haven't matched the exact pattern (so we'll call them rare!) But we're guessing that the bold print is a Eastern European embroidery folk art pattern. And we love it! We also love the slightly unique shape of the handles. This pair would make a perfect daily coffee (or tea!) cup and look striking on an open shelf.
