We love a good fish plate - but make it terracotta slipware and we've got ourselves a dandie. This 9" deep plate/low bowl is handmade, hand painted and will have to be pried from my hands. We love the imperfect brush strokes, and the etched details on the three fish pattern in the center. There's a slightly water color effect to the glazing, with streaks of green, like sea grass, around the sides.
If this were ours forever, we'd attach some wire and hang it on the wall. But this would also make a great salsa bowl, with a fantastic little fish discovery at the bottom.
