Antique Rawlings "Normandy" Blue Wooden Tennis Racket

Ahh, tennis; Amy's second favorite sport, after thrifting. It's got all the things: fierce competition, fashionable clothes, fresh air & sunshine, and the smell of those new tennis balls? Give it to me. But we also we also love tennis for it's nostalgic, simpler-times appeal. That's why we're bringing our love of the court - and unexpected athleticism - to our walls.
When we saw this vintage Rawlings, in the rare Normandy series, we snapped it up. Removable from the wooden case, it's up to you how to display it (we left it in for the photos). The shape and leather-wrapped handle indicate it might be from the 1930s-40s era of wooden rackets but we were unable to figure out exactly when Rawlings made this Normandy piece. What we do know is that the color is unusual and the leather handle and banded wrappings make this a true dandie. It tells the world: I play tennis! Or, I want to! Or, I just like it, ok?
- Antique Rawlings "Normandy" Blue Wooden Tennis Racket
- This is a pre-loved dandie; in good antique condition, there's some chipping of the paint, some imperfect wrapping of the leather handle. Overall, in very good shape with no broken strings, cracks or chips present.
