Peggy Karr started her glass company when she was living at her home in Morristown NJ, describing herself as a 'starving artist' and spent her evenings experimenting with glass techniques - including her now famous style of fused glass. The end result are beautiful, intricate designs in bright colors and she became famous for it. A lot of people go nuts for her work, but I'll be honest, most of it is not for me.
...Except, that is, this plate. Like Peggy, I have a soft spot for poppies. And the colors are are fresh, modern and smell of spring. The dimension of her work is notable - beneath the candy-coated clear top there's a sea of puppies and shimmery powder and the end results is a serving dish that's worthy of display.
Measuring 14", this is one of the larger plates in her collection. And it's signed. Includes the original box and pamphlet outlining her process.
