We think we found the cat that swallowed the canary. This smiling ceramic MCM cat is pretty pleased with herself, and for good reason. She's perfectly maintained, with no chips or cracks, and with creamy white fur and a hint of mischief in her eyes, she's ready to add a healthy dose of whimsy to your home.
Emile Galle was a french designer who made this style of cheeky ceramic cats, with glass-set eyes, famous. This one is not that. This painted-eye style feline hails from Italy, made by Costa, producers of ceramic and porcelain majolica wares. We actually prefer this one for the simplicity; Galle-styles are often painted busy patterns and we like that this cheshire-style grin is the focal point of the piece.
