Vintage Brass Candlestick/Match Holder
Matchbox Twenty-eth Century
Matchbox Twenty-eth Century
Sometimes I wish these dandies would just talk to me. And if this one could, we expect an old English accept, and stories of a windswept life in Cornwall.
If you're puzzling over what this is (it's the accent, isn't it?), it's a vintage, brass candlestick match holder...not exactly trending on Amazon right now. It harkens back to a different life - mid-twenthieth century by our estimates. As well as a holder for a standard taper, it incorporates storage for a standard book of matches - the one it traveled with is from the Wildcat Inn & Tavern, in Jackson NH (we'll throw that in for free).
- Unmarked. Like much brass, it is produced in India, as marked.
- Dimensions: 3" wide, 2.4" tall.
- This is a pre-loved dandie; in very good vintage/antique condition, it has an expected patina that would come right off with a good polish, but we prefer it this way.
