Amy, here. If you're wondering how someone like me, in a monogamous relationship with nautical kitsch, could possible part with this outrageous relic... Same. And if I had the space in my home, I'd plan a freaking room around it. But alas, this piece needs to ship out. Measuring 23" tall, this is a large lamp with all the charming coastal elements. First, the carved wood seafarer - the captain of the Captain's - with peg leg and all. He's standing next to a bucket of bait, and there's a seagull friend perched on a nearby piling. Plus, there's charming details like the netting and roping.
But what puts this piece over the top is the shade; it's got a rustic burlap style in a tone that lives somewhere between rust and brown, and it casts a marvelously warm glow that will warm your soul during even the roughest of coastal storms.
We hope someone with a love of the sea picks this up; would be adorable in a nautical bedroom, a reading nook or playroom.
