When we found this set of 6 handled glasses, we were taken with their thin, lightweight hand feel. Yet, we detected a level of durability that was unexpected given their almost ethereal quality. What sorcery is afoot here? A little research revealed that they are made of a type of borosilicate glass - a durable, heat & shock resistant glass popularly used in chemistry glassware - that was invented by Otto Schott in Jena, Germany back in 1884. Otto's company, multinational glassmakers Schott Mainz, produced these under the Jenaer Glas brand.
Heat resistant and elegant as hell, these are designed for wrapping your hands around them. We can imagine these being a delightfully unexpected choice for summer cocktails, too.
