There's some things I can't tell you about this baking dish like where it's from, what it's used for, or why. But we can tell you that this is one of those homey items that creates interest in the kitchen. We can also tell you how much we love the blue and white glazing which makes it instantly Scandinavian feeling, yet the French Country aesthetic of earthy terracotta. It can be used as bakeware, for sure, but could also be an unexpected serving dish and - as perhaps intended - hung on the wall so we can continue to marvel at it's beauty, and wonder of its origin.
