Golden Hour Clock
The Jefferson Golden Hour Mystery clock has been keeping time beautifully since the 1950s. Named for their mysterious working mechanisms, the hands appear to be floating freely on a single piece of glass. However, the secret to this is not magic but a magnet hidden in the pendulum and an electric coil hidden in the base. We prefer to marvel at the beauty just like we do any good Golden Hour.
Designed by the Jefferson Electic Company of Illionois, this was their first and most popular clock. It has become a very widely collected clock, perhaps because of it's iconic MCM aesthetic that still holds up today.
- Jefferson Golden Hour Mystery Clock from the 1950s
- Dimensions: 9" tall and 7.6" wide
- This is a pre-loved dandie; the condition of the clock is good but not perfect; for a week we tested it and it kept time almost perfectly but eventually slowed. It may need a cleaning or minor adjustment, but clock tinkerers, we are not. The original vintage wire has a minor fraying but works as expected when plugged in, so that's good.
