Finish artist and designer, Oiva Toikka, studied and pursued a career in ceramics for much of his life until eventually taking up glass as his preferred medium - and is perhaps best known for his 1970s glassware designs for the Finnish company, littala. He was a master of light, with colored glass and intricate embossing designs dominating his creations in ways that seems to always catch the sun.
These Krouvi 50 cl beer steins, designed for litalla, are some of his more straight forward works; clean Scandianavian lines, strong handles, but texture-galore. Collector pieces, these mugs are a timeless classic - and would be a fabulous gift for the beer-lover in your life who appreciates beautiful artistry.
