We'll file this one under quirky, because, after all, it's a frog wearing eyelashes. In the 1970s, a company named Arnel created ceramic molds and sold them to hobbiest; while this one is not signed by Arnel, it appears to be at least in that same style, if not created by the company. The hobbiest who brought us this particular toad is Shirley Harry, and she made this one for Pat.
We love Shirley's approach - in very muted mint green, she included eyelashes on this toad because it's Saturday night in the 1970s, and she's on her way out dancing. We'd put Shirley's toad in the garden, or among a plant, or really just anywhere you feel like bringing a little unexpected quirkiness.

This is a pre-loved dandie; in very good vintage condition, there's one tiny chip on the front toe which is hard to even see due to the light coloring of the piece.
